A Legal Request

If you see content in a Google product that you think violates the law or your rights, let us know. We will review the material and consider blocking, restricting or removing access to it. Behaviors such as phishing, violence, or explicit content may also violate our product policies and may be removed from Google products. Before creating a request, try to label the contents of the corresponding product. Does Twitter still share all the information requested by valid legal requests? Notice to user By default, Twitter will attempt to inform the owner(s) of the reported account(s) of the existence of a legal request regarding the account(s) unless otherwise prohibited. Exceptions to user notification may include serious circumstances, such as: Emergency situations related to imminent threats to life, sexual exploitation of children, or terrorism. Twitter will attempt to notify users of the legal request by means of a notification in the Twitter app and by sending a message to the email address associated with the account(s), if applicable. If we are not permitted to notify the user(s) at this stage of the process (for example, because the legal request is accompanied by a privacy order), we may notify the user(s) of the existence of a legal request after Twitter has withheld the reported content or disclosed information relating to the Twitter account(s). Twice a year, Twitter publishes a transparency report that includes details of the governmental and non-governmental requests we receive.

We provide information on our compliance rate, the countries that make the most requests and the trends we have identified during the reporting period. We encourage you to read our report, as well as reports from other providers whose services you use to stay informed of the impact of these requests. Can I get more information about the legal requests Twitter receives? (2) In Parliament, a motion is a request by a Member to invoke a right or to make a request. Authentication of documents and publication data is usually carried out by written statements signed by the relevant IETF custodian banks. The way they are currently structured, different people are responsible for Internet drafts and RFCs, which means that separate statements are issued for these different types of documents. If a significant formality is required, a notarized affidavit may be issued at the request of the applicant. Twitter will attempt to notify you of a legal request we have received via the email address associated with your account. We may have difficulty sending a notification to users who do not have a current or valid email address associated with the Twitter account. What is Lumen and how does it relate to Twitter and deletion requests? In order to cover the administrative and legal costs of responding to requests for information and subpoenas, the IETF charges a modest fee and covers the costs of responding to such requests. Each of these requests is urgent and involves the IETF Advisor, the Executive Director and members of the Legal Advisory Committee to quickly analyze and identify ways to respond to the request. Often, it is necessary to hire outside counsel, especially in cases that may lead to testimony or testimony in court. A fee schedule is an appropriate and appropriate way to cover the costs associated with these efforts.

Fees may be waived at the discretion of LLC`s Board of Directors in the event of applications from or on behalf of non-profit organizations and in other unusual circumstances. Can I appeal Twitter`s decision to retain my content? If you believe that your content has been retained in error, you may object by replying directly to the email we send to inform you of the retention (if it is based on a legal request) or by contacting us via our Help Center (if this is not permitted due to local laws). The IETF encourages parties to request documents and information informally without issuing a subpoena. This process fosters a spirit of cooperation between the requesting party and the IETF and allows for a productive and collaborative effort to meet the needs of the party. Based on the IETF`s experience, statements and affidavits made through the informal processes described below are admissible in most judicial and administrative proceedings (including the U.S. Federal and State Court, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB)). The result varies depending on whether the reported content violates Twitter`s terms of service or rules, or whether it is allegedly illegal in a particular jurisdiction but does not otherwise violate Twitter`s terms of service or rules. For more general information about the different types of legal requests we receive, please see below. As part of our efforts to remain transparent, a copy of any legal advice we receive may be sent to the Lumen Project for publication.

Lumen is an independent research project led by the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School. The Lumen database contains millions of content removal requests that have been voluntarily shared by various companies, including Google. Its purpose is to facilitate academic and industrial research regarding the availability of online content. Lumen blackens out the bidder`s personal contact information (i.e., phone number, email address, and address). Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with legal advice or other information beyond what we have provided in our notice. If you are looking for legal counsel, here are some resources that can help. (1) the specific information requested, (2) if the request relates to a legal case or controversy and, if so, the court and parties involved in the case, (3) the name and contact details of the person who made the request and on whose behalf the request is made, (4) whether a response by electronic document is acceptable, or if signed paper documents are required, (5) if notarization of documents is required, and (6) the requested time for response. For more information on the types of court proceedings required to obtain certain types of account information, see the “Types of Court Proceedings” section of our Transparency report and Twitter`s Guidelines for Law Enforcement.
